Billy Eichner To Star In Nick Stoller And Judd Apatow Rom-Com

Billy’s going from In The Street to the silver screen!

Billy Eichner is going to be featured in two upcoming Disney movies, the reboot of The Lion King and Noelle, he made an appearance in American Horror Story: Apocalypse and had a four episode arc in season 2 of Netflix’s Friends From College. Suffice it to say, the three-time Emmy nominee has been killing it lately – and he’s not slowing down.

The latest project from Eichner was announced in an exclusive press release from Deadline yesterday afternoon, and get ready folks because it’s a BIG ONE! Billy is going to write and star in his own romantic comedy.

The project doesn’t yet have a title and we don’t have a ton of details, but a few things are certain. The film is going to be directed by Nick Stoller (Neighbors, Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and produced by Judd Apatow (Knocked Up, The 40-Year-Old Virgin) so whatever it’s going to be called, it’s got an amazing team of rom-com veterans behind it and sure to be a ton of fun.

And perhaps most exciting of all, it’s a story centred around two gay men. This is a monumental step in the right direction for romantic comedies, because as we all know – representation matters.

We couldn’t be more thrilled for Billy, and we’ll be waiting eagerly by our computers for the ticket presale!
